S-Watt Biomass Gasification system is a flexible, reliable, and technology that can turn a variety of feedstocks into high-value products, help reduce a country’s dependence on imported oil and natural gas, and can provide a clean alternative source of energy.The gasification process renders the use of biomass relatively clean and acceptable in environmental terms.
S-Watt’s process involves two step. In first step, different feedstocks such as crop waste (rice husk, wheat straw), animal waste, forest waste (pine needles), and municipal solid waste (MSW) converts into a combustible gas Syngas using steam and air. Syngas is a mixture of mix of Carbon monoxide and Hydrogen. This is achieved by reacting the material at high temperatures (>700 °C), without combustion, with a controlled amount of air/ steam. In second step, syngas is cleaned using gas cleaning system. The cleaned syngas is used in different applications.
